Entrepreneurial activities cut across all facets of life as opposed to the belief that it revolves around handcrafts and other skilled labour. One of the qualities of an entrepreneur is the ability to innovate new ideas while bearing all risks and reward of such a project. Rajan Kaur Saini falls into this category has seen some of the shortfalls of her immediate environment and deciding against all odds to make an impact. Here is her story:
Roshaneh Zafar was born into a middle upper-class family in Lahore, Pakistan in 1967. A graduate Wharton Business School, University of Pennsylvania, USA and with a Master’s degree in Development Economics from Yale University, USA, she set out to become an investment banker which at the time seemed to be her dream career but she soon realized that she had no intention of making wealthy people wealthier.
Having observed the burden and cost of shipping in her environment, Laura Behrens Wu set out to ameliorate the plight of the common man by building GoShippo to make it easier and less expensive to undertake shipping activities for e-commerce.
Dina El-Mofty is the founder of Injaz Egypt, an organization which has a strong educational focus on entrepreneurship as well as work readiness and is part of the Junior Achievement worldwide network. Dina has recently founded Inspo, a company focused on delivering leading global programs on personal and professional development in Egypt and the Middle East. She is also actively involved with the American Chamber of Commerce as the co-chair of the Women in Business Committee and is a member of the U.S.-Egypt Business Council.

Talking about waste it is no longer news that waste management is one of the biggest challenges faced with African countries as the notion of recycling is still a bit alien in the system. It was heartwarming however to learn that some young people have taken it upon themselves to tackle this huge challenge for the betterment of the continent; one of these young entrepreneurs is Bilikiss Adebiyi-Abiola. Though a woman, she has built passion around ridding the streets of waste products and sell them off to manufacturers. Here is her story:
