SureCall Doing Good with Every Call

SureCall is ‘doing good with every call’, says Desiree Bombenon, President, and CEO of the award winning global contact center. And it seems that they are, in a number of ways.

SureCall a 24/7, 365 days a year telephone call center, answers phones and emails in a quick, efficient and professional manner. The center has recently positioned itself to assist charities at a reduced rate by offering their outsourced solutions to help with fundraising and database contact management. As an added value those charities are put on a list that is provided to SureCall’s full customer base, where their customer can then choose to donate 2% of their invoice a charity listed. The customer pays the same amount and the SureCall ‘GoodCall’ program, gives 2% of their earned revenue from that customer to that charity at the end of the year. This win/win is just one of the ways that SureCall is helping their community.

Although the GoodCall program is doing good work, Desiree felt that they needed to make a greater impact and a more global one. Desiree started a program designed to focus on educating females in underserved communities in developing countries, she calls it “Hero Girls”. She designed the program while attending Harvard University through 2017 and as part of the Advanced Leadership Initiative program. The ALI program supports a cohort of leaders from around the world, to work on critical global humanitarian; Desiree utilized her time and the resources at Harvard to build the foundation and strategy for Hero Girls.

Some of the current work being done through Hero Girls is an entrepreneurial project for young women in parts of India. This is a potential bolt on a project that they are hoping to pilot in early 2019 where they support women’s empowerment in India in a holistic way. The funding will support about 22 women over approx. two years and include installation of a smokeless chullah (stove) in the home, distribution of improved-breed goats, and construction of a goat shed. Desiree also hopes to start an entrepreneur workshop for young females to build confidence and self efficacy early in their adult life. She will be visiting sites in India in Spring of 2018 to determine where the project work is most needed. This pilot will shape future Hero Girls programs with the ongoing support of SureCall and their team.
