Over the weekend, the Princess completed Britain’s demanding Three Peaks Challenge, transforming a physically grueling feat into a powerful statement of gratitude, resilience, and hope.
The challenge, widely regarded as one of the United Kingdom’s toughest endurance events, requires participants to climb the highest peaks in England, Scotland, and Wales within 24 hours. Covering more than 3,000 meters of elevation, it tests both physical endurance and mental determination.

She undertook the challenge to raise awareness and support for The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, the specialist cancer hospital in Chelsea where she received treatment following her cancer diagnosis in 2024.
“It is personal,” she explained in a video message shared after completing the challenge. “I’ve met some incredible people, those people who are living with and beyond cancer. I know personally how difficult that journey is, and I really wanted to use this opportunity as my way of contributing to all the wonderful work that’s going on.”

In March 2024, she revealed that she had been diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing preventative chemotherapy following major abdominal surgery. Her commitment to The Royal Marsden extends beyond fundraising. Alongside Prince William, she serves as Joint Patron of The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity, championing improved cancer care while drawing attention to the importance of supporting patients beyond their medical treatment.
In a statement released following the challenge, Catherine reflected on how cancer reshapes every aspect of a person’s life.
“Cancer changes how you think and feel and profoundly affects every aspect of life,” she said, adding that she hopes her experience encourages people to explore life beyond a diagnosis.
