As we continue celebrating women, it is pertinent to understand that women are God’s unique gift to humanity. A woman is an irreplaceable force that must be reckoned with. According to Diane Mariechild, “A woman is the full circle. Within her is the power to create, nurture and transform.”

Although women are celebrated yearly, they are always at the receiving end of most societal evils. According to the World Health Organization, it is estimated that one in three women experience some physical or sexual abuse in her lifetime, only 38% of management positions are held by women in workplace and leadership roles, and more than 250 million women alive today were married before their 15th birthday, many against their will. Amid all these struggles, women from different tribes and nations have found the strength to overcome some of the norms and traditions against them, their children and society. Thus, below are reasons why we must celebrate women;

  1. A woman is an agent of selfless love, happiness and compassion.

When a woman loves, it’s divine. Every Woman is the very existence of nature, the embodiment of supreme energy, and her love is pure. Therefore, she can create happiness or otherwise wherever she finds herself.

  1. A woman personifies ageless beauty, grace and dignity.

She symbolizes virtue, great inner strength, tremendous patience, resilience and fortitude. The same values she inculcates in everyone around her.

  1. Women make great leaders

Let’s take it back to the days of Esther, Deborah, Yaa Asantewaa, Margaret Thatcher and many more; you will realize that women are not just leaders but great leaders. Women possess a great trait that benefits everyone around them whenever she’s in charge.

  1. Women are excellent multitaskers

The ability to handle different things simultaneously makes women indisputable champions. A woman can be a wife, mother, sister, daughter, teacher, pastor, chef, boss, best friend and many more at the same time. She has the ability to stay focused while handling so many tasks.

  1. Women are Strong

Discrimination against women is still visible in our system, but there has been progress and resilience in the fight. Most women have become activists, defending the place of womanhood in society.

Aside from that, women go through excruciating pains and do not complain about it, from menstrual cramps to childbirth and other pains from their daily chores. She is the epitome of strength.

  1. Women make great teachers and counsellors.

A woman is endowed with the ability to understand people’s mental and emotional needs. She is not just a teacher; women are also good counsellors. A woman, by default, is a great teacher and counsellor who lavishly gives moral support.

Every Woman is a cheerleader, a pillar of strength to her family, the society, and the country she represents.

Women are the backbone of a nation’s economy. They are mothers, sisters, wives, daughters, and best friends who selflessly take up so many important roles.

Every Woman’s journey, struggles, achievements, contributions, joy, freedom, liberty and rights should be celebrated daily.
