Many people love adventure. The mere thought of a vacation or holiday makes them super excited. They love to travel the world and meet new people and experience something different. However, for some, travelling isn’t just for them. For one, I am among that category, but I admire those who enjoy travelling and how enthusiastic they are about adventure.

According to Adventure and travel expert, Matthew Karsten, here are profound tips that can help you enjoy travelling even if you are not a fan.

  1. Maintain an Open Mind

The perspective you have about other people and their way of life can make you judgmental and skeptical about travelling. One should not judge the lifestyle or customs of others even though they are different from yours.

“Listen to opinions you don’t agree with. It’s arrogant to assume your views are correct and others wrong. Practice empathy and put yourself in someone else’s shoes,” says Matthew Karsten, Adventure travel blogger, and photographer. “Embrace different possibilities, opinions, religions, customs, and interests. Ask questions. You don’t have to agree with everyone, but you may be surprised by what you’ll learn from the people you meet during your travels.”

  1. Patience Is Vital

Adventure and travel expert, Matthew, said that Patience is his most important travel tip. Patience will help you stay calm when everything may not be going as planned during your trip.

“Patience is my top travel tip. Don’t sweat the stuff you can’t control. Life is much too short to be angry & annoyed all the time while travelling. Did you miss your bus? No worries, there will be another one,” he says. “ATM out of money? Great! Take an unplanned road trip over to the next town and explore. I know it can be hard sometimes, but just take a deep breath and remind yourself that it could be worse.”

  1. Laugh at Yourself Sometimes

Travelling to a new place comes with lots of drama and you will likely make some mistakes along the line. Instead of getting embarrassed, laugh at yourself. This will take off any anxiety you may feel, and help you relax even more. “Don’t be afraid to get it wrong, and don’t take life so seriously. Relax!”

  1. Take Lots of Epic Travel Photos

Taking pictures is a great way to make your travel more exciting and fun-filled. You may only see these places & meet these people once in your lifetime, you wouldn’t want to let that slide, would you? You can only remember them forever with plenty of photos! Don’t worry about looking like a “tourist”. Good pictures are the ultimate souvenirs.

“They don’t cost anything, they’re easy to share, and they don’t take up space in your luggage,” says Matthew.

  1. Leave Your Comfort Zone

“Challenge yourself to try things that normally give you anxiety,” Matthew recommends. Getting used to a new environment and familiarizing with strangers can be burdensome for some people. However, it will become a lot easier if you choose to leave your comfort zone. The more you do this, the more your anxiety fades away. Not a hiker? Go on more hikes. Have trouble talking to strangers? Talk to everyone. Scared of weird food? Eat the weirdest thing you can find. Come out of your comfort zone and have fun.

Travelling for vacation maybe be all you need to get your spark back. These tips will help you get started. Unwind!
