Often when you imagine a dream wedding, especially if it is a celebrity wedding, we imagine some grand event with famous guests and exclusive class. One might expect a bottomless champaign, a large church and an extravagant gown. Recently this image has changed. Celebrities are opting for smaller, intimate events. Because Amazons Watch loves stories about the triumph of love, we could not be more excited to talk about the most recent wedding in the celeb world, Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck.

Jennifer Lopez, well known as JLo, posted pictures and videos from the intimate wedding on her website. She wrote, “We did it. Love is beautiful. Love is kind. And it turns out love is patient. Twenty years patient.” The couple finally got married after being together for years. They fell in love and started dating in the early 2000s. The romance took off, and they got engaged but sadly called off the wedding and broke up soon after. This was only temporary as they reconnected and quickly picked up where they left off only 20 years later.

The wedding was in Las Vegas and very private, and they were officially married late at night amongst a handful of strangers and their children. The couple married at A Little White Wedding Chapel in the not-so-romantic Vegas, but Jennifer explained that she would not have wanted it any other way, “Exactly what we wanted. Last night we flew to Vegas and stood in line for a license with four other couples, all making the same journey to the wedding capital of the world.” She was so excited to share that it was her dream wedding!

It is easy to overcomplicate love, and Amazons Watch appreciates that even celebrities prioritize love over publicity. Every wedding day is special and unique in its way, regardless of the crowd or lack thereof. What is important is the person you are marrying. The lovely couple has shown that love also pushes beyond time and conflicts. At the end of the day, love conquers all.
