One does not need to be super rich or even a celebrity to look classy or expensive. Looking glamorous is easy when you know and apply a few minimal fashion hacks.

  • Invest in your wardrobe

If you want to look chic, you must be fashionable, and you can only do this by putting a little more effort into getting the right wear. The reality is, keeping up with the trends can be exhausting, but there is a way around this.

Tiffany Reese, the Marketing Lead for Stitch Fix, said that “investing in nicely fitted staples for your closets and combining them with inexpensive trendy wears is an intelligent way to get started.”

Aside from being strategic in what you purchase, it is also essential to be strategic about when you buy. Advisably, you could buy your wears off-season; that way, you tend to save cost even more.

Likewise, you could check out some thrift shops. They sell high-quality that is cheap and affordable for any budget.

  • Pay attention to your hairdo

As much as possible, keep your hair groomed and tidy. Whether it is braided or not, let it be presentable. When it comes to styling, a ponytail can never go wrong. An updo accentuates your neckline, ear, and face and makes them more prominent. With an updo, your accessories are your friend; use them well.

“Regardless of your hair type or hair colour, wearing a ponytail(or updo) is an excellent choice to give you a classy look,” says award-winning celebrity hairstylist Kyah Wright. “They also keep your hair away from your face, which certainly highlights your facial peculiarities,” she added.

  • Try-On a Jacket

Aside from keeping warm, jackets are an easy and inexpensive means to make any clothing look more fashionable.
“Wearing a blazer rapidly boosts any look,” says Reese.
Blazer gives that boss lady effect and screams sophistication.

  • Opt for Accessories

Using accessories has a way of making anyone look classy. Accessories are your best bet to spark up your looks.

“Making use of jewellery to compliment any outfit immediately elevates it,” says Fashion Designer and Personal Stylist Erika Paige.

“You can’t go wrong with a nice purse,” says Noah Diaz, an Editorial and Celebrity Stylist. “Whether you purchase a brand new one, or you purchase it at a secondhand store, a bag will easily enhance your look,” she added.

In addition to a bag, you can also opt for a chic hat, sunglasses, or statement jewellery.

  • Fill your wardrobe with neutrals

Neutral colours like white, brown, beige, grey, and black are perfect for a classy look. Wearing neutrals also has a way of making you look sophisticated.

“An all-neutral palette instantly screams put together,” says Reese.

  • Avoid the use of too many labels.

I know luxury brands are so appealing and thrilling. The same goes for anyone who loves fashion. However, avoid the temptation of mixing up too many labels for a particular outfit. Don’t be a walking billboard. Wearing too many brands can degrade your look.

“Never wear pronounced logos,” says Stylist Katherine Pereda. “You can centre a whole clothing around one luxurious piece,” she added.

It is unnecessary to combine too many labels all at once.

  • Try Monochrome Outfits

Monochrome outfits are top-notch, but they look simple, put-together, and luxurious.

According to Reese, when she is in doubt of what to wear, she opts for all black. “It harmonizes with everything and always conveys a stressless cool vibe,” she said.

  • Stay Clean

Beyond looking fashionable, being chic has everything to do with looking polished.

“A cheap way to look classy is always to look clean,” Said Pereda.

Do all-around grooming. Have your nails well-trimmed and polished. Your choice of outfit says a lot about you. Wash your clothes when they get dirty. Ensure your clothes are well-fitted and take the extra effort to iron them. Do well to plan your clothing the night before to have ample time to iron out any wrinkles.

Pay attention to your eyebrows and lips. Keep your eyebrows trimmed and your lip wet with a gloss or lipstick, and smell nice too. It would be best if you rarely were seen tacky.

  • Always look confident

Confidence gives you a special kind of glow. People assume that looking classy is only about wearing expensive wears. Elegance has everything to do with confidence and self-carriage. Never slouch when you sit or walk. Carry yourself with dignity, hold your head up high and be proud of your looks. Don’t forget to put up a smile.

You don’t have to break a bank to look classy or have that celebrity feel. Investing a little in your wardrobe, playing around with nudes, keeping clean, and having loads of confidence can be all you need.
