All Women Recycling is a small a women-led social enterprise created by Lynn Worsley, in the Southern Suburbs of Cape Town, South Africa. It was inspired by the desire to create a sustainable and profitable business, promote environmental sustainability and provide a safe place to nurture women through skills, education and empowering project through recycling and product development. The enterprise turns discarded plastic soft-drink bottles into beautiful upcycled, decorative gift boxes. Lynn intended to find a practical and sustainable way of keeping the country and its communities free of the thousands of discarded plastic soft-drink bottles that litter the environment. She set up the enterprise with the end goal of creating high quality, upcycled products using these discarded plastic bottles as materials, which would in turn benefit the environment and empower local women in the communities. Jawaher Al Qasimi Chosen as Patron of Global Movement ‘Jeans for Refugees’
Jeans for Refugees (JFR), a global initiative to raise funds for refugees worldwide, has chosen H.H. Sheikha Jawaher bint Mohammed Al Qasimi, wife of H.H. the Ruler of Sharjah, Chairperson of NAMA Women Advancement Establishment, and the Eminent Advocate for the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), as the project’s patron, in recognition of her efforts in making the world a better and more secure place for refugees. Guyana Prime Minister Orders Pregnant TV Anchor Reinstated
A news anchor on a state-run TV station in Guyana who said she was removed from her position because she is pregnant is being reinstated thanks to the prime minister of the South American country. Prime Minister Moses Nagamootoo directed the National Communications Network late Wednesday to put Natasha Smith back on the air and told the CEO to apologize to her. “I am in no doubt that the removal of Ms. Smith was due to her state of pregnancy, and that the act is an attack on her as a woman and as a professional journalist,” Nagamootoo, whose Cabinet duties include responsibility for the government communications, said in a statement. Smith said camera operators were initially directed to hide her pregnancy from viewers. Caroline Boudreaux: A Rural Diamond helping Orphaned Children in India
Caroline Boudreaux was born in Lake Charles, Louisiana, 1972. She was born into a very loving and supportive home, the youngest of nine children. Boudreaux graduated from the Louisiana State University, where she earned a degree in Psychology. She is married to Ed Goble, and she had a career as an account executive with a TV station in Austin, Texas until 2000. At 28, Boudreaux and a friend traveled around the world on a vacation. While in a small village in India, the two women met a young boy, and out of compassion, her friend had sponsored the little boy. A Research conducted at Penn State University by Dr Nancy Darling, revealed that over 96% of teenagers tell lies. There were 36 potential topics presented in the study, and it was discovered that the average teen lies to their parents about 12 of them.
